Build Your Own Giant Wall Display
So I have to admit that I've been dying to get a projector, with only one thing standing in my way... The PRICE! I've also heard about all these 'do-it-yourself' kits that are out there, but frankly I'm always skeptical to buy anything that is a kit - specifically if its from an unknown or unreliable source. Thus, I've yet to be enticed to do so.
Then I come across this article...
Tom's Hardware Guide PCs & HowTo: Supersize Your TV for $300: Build Your Own XGA Projector! - Giant Wall Display
... which after readying, makes every step in the process easy, simple and clear. The fact that it would probably take a total of 20 hours of research and building is not really an deterring factor, it actually looks like it could be somewhat fun, and for $300 bucks, it sounds like a project worthy of some free evenings and weekends.
Naturally, lets wait and see what happens to the prices of projectors in the coming holiday season, but should there be no major drop in pricing, this seems like a project which could be interesting to undertake. And of course, if I decide to do so, I'll post my experience... for better or worse.
